Choosing a wedding DJ in the North East: 7 questions to ask

Booking your wedding DJ is one of the decisions that shapes the whole evening. Here are the questions worth asking before you commit.

1. Are you insured and PAT tested?

Most venues require public liability insurance and PAT-tested equipment. A professional DJ will send certificates without being chased.

2. Will we speak before the day?

A planning call lets your DJ learn your music taste, your families and your running order.

3. Can we give you a do-not-play list?

The answer should always be yes.

4. What time do you arrive?

Set-up should finish before guests come into the room.

5. Do you provide a microphone for speeches?

A wireless microphone saves a lot of shouting.

6. Have you played our venue?

If not, a good DJ will check access and power with the venue in advance.

7. Who will actually DJ on the day?

With an agency it could be anyone. With me, it's always me.
